AW and Anthony were at the allotment last week, while many were away on trips and holidays. After a two-week break to focus on the summer fair, AW wasted no time returning to work, giving the plants a much-needed drink in the warm summer sun.
Meanwhile, I took on the task of uncovering our cauliflower and Brussels sprouts, which had become hidden beneath a surprising amount of undergrowth. We weeded diligently to free our beloved plants.
We paused only a few times to hydrate with water, and by the end of the session, it was rewarding to step back and see how our patience and care were paying off—the plants were thriving!
Exhausted and hot, we returned to Enablement Care, where we were greeted with an ice-cold glass of tropicalade, a delicious tuna salad, and a refreshing strawberry mousse—a perfect way to unwind from the day’s efforts.

Celebrating the Success of Our 2024 Summer Fair
As we reflect on the incredible success of our 2024 Community Enablement Team and Enablement Care summer fair, we are thrilled to share some exciting news. Thanks to the overwhelming support and generosity of everyone who participated, we have raised an astounding £481!
Whether you contributed by attending, donating, volunteering, or simply spreading the word, each of you played a vital role in making this day a success. We are immensely grateful for your support!
We hope that everyone who joined us had a truly enjoyable day, filled with good memories and a strong sense of community. The atmosphere was vibrant, and it was heartwarming to see so many people coming together to make a difference.
Over the next week, we will share our plans for using the funds raised to support our service users. Once again, a huge thank you to everyone who made this event possible. Your kindness and generosity are deeply appreciated.

Walking Club Visits Shipley Country Park
We enjoyed a delightful three-mile walk around Shipley Country Park last week. The weather was pleasant, not too hot, making it perfect for our outing. Along the way, everyone had fun identifying various plants and trees, and we entertained ourselves with a lively game of I-spy. We concluded our walk at the visitor centre, where we relaxed with a lovely drink and some delicious cake.
Log My Care and Family Engagement

Log My Care is a cutting-edge care management system that simplifies and improves the way we document and monitor the care we provide. This user-friendly platform allows our staff to easily record care activities, track resident progress, and ensure that every individual receives personalised and attentive care. With real-time updates and comprehensive records, our team can efficiently manage all aspects of care, from medication administration to daily activities.
One of the most exciting features of Log My Care is its ability to connect families with their loved ones’ progress. We understand how important it is for families to stay informed and involved, especially when they cannot visit as often as they would like. To bridge this gap, we have sent invitations to families, giving them access to the Log My Care platform.
Families who accept our invitation can log into Log My Care and view real-time updates about their significant person’s daily activities, health status, and overall well-being. This includes information on meals, medications, physical activities, and special notes from our care staff. By providing this access, we aim to foster a sense of reassurance and connection, ensuring that families are always in the loop regarding their loved one’s care.
Families can see detailed records of the care their loved one is receiving, promoting trust and transparency.
Real-time updates help alleviate concerns, as families can monitor the well-being of their loved ones anytime, anywhere.
Families can communicate more effectively with our care team, facilitating better coordination and understanding of their loved one’s needs.
We have already started sending out invitations to families, and the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive. Cheese and onion flans were on the menu at The Community Hub!
We had a delightful group session, with some participants dropping in to say hello and others staying to cook and eat together. We all prepared delicious cheese and onion flans to accompany our salad, using fresh produce from our community allotment—truly a “field to fork” experience. The flans were incredibly tasty, and we saved some for our service users to take home to their families.
To top off the day, we made pancakes generously topped with sugar and orange, which were an absolute hit. A big well done to everyone who participated for their hard work. Special thanks to Louise and Lee for keeping everything on track. We’re all looking forward to next week!
Gardening Club – Clearing Weeds and Nettles!
It was another productive day with AW, AB, TG, Lisa, and Anthony. We made significant progress in clearing the thick weeds and nettles along the walkways, making the area much more pleasant and safer to walk through. Lisa, AB, and TG helped plant radish seeds in the raised beds and harvested some lettuce for Wednesday’s salad. AW prepared a small plot and planted sweet corn, while AB prepared the ground and planted two courgette plants.
We wrapped up our efforts at Enablement Care, where we recharged with a delicious lunch of meatloaf and dessert.
Gardening Club – The Plot is Flourishing!!
We had a fantastic time at the gardening club last Monday. We spent the morning at the allotment, where our plot is flourishing, and the plants are coming up beautifully! The weather has been warm and sunny, so we provided cold drinks to keep everyone cool. Lisa and April tended to our raised bed, planting beetroot, while Andy prepared the area and sowed turnip seeds. There was a wave of excitement when we discovered a perfectly formed baby cauliflower. It’s wonderful to hear the enthusiasm from our service users as they see their hard work paying off and witness the fruits of their labor.
We’ve made our first harvest of the season, gathering a small crop of potatoes and three lettuces for the kitchen. After lunch, the gardening club shifted to enablement care. Our service users, AB and AW, helped some residents get involved, planting beetroot, carrots, and lettuce in the wheelchair-friendly raised beds. Others watered the potatoes, strawberries, and planters. We wrapped up the day with a well-earned rest and a large glass of cherryade.
A big thank you to all our service users and our wonderful Lisa for her dedication and commitment. Well done, everyone!
Community Hub – Parent and Carer Drop-In Session
Join us for a supportive drop-in session focusing on topics related to children and young people with additional needs. Hosted by Tracey Green and April Parker, who will be offering valuable advice drawn from their extensive experience.
Choose the best session for you from 10am – 12pm or 6pm – 8pm.
Cost: £5 per head.
Tracey Green, Director, Autism Specialist Consultant and Responsible Individual
Tracey has over 25 years of experience in health and social care and is up to date with the current legislation and her responsibilities in this area. Tracey has 20 years of experience leading a staff team and providing the required amount of supervision, support and training to ensure a well led service provision.
Tracey has a particular interest in working with children, young adults and their families to offer consultancy, advice and bespoke training in neurodivergence. This includes working with children and young people in their homes and within educational placements to provide consultancy and support with communication barriers, wellbeing strategies and life skills.
Tracey is qualified to MA in Autism Education and has lived experience of the complex education system, health care barriers and social exclusion challenges with having 2 autistic children. She also has qualifications in healthcare management and training.
April Parker, Registered Manager and Operations Lead
I have been working for CCT Community Enablement Team LTD for 8 years. I have progressed with the company from the start. I am now the registered manager and the Operations Lead. With a vast knowledge of the care sector, I continue to develop my personal development with ongoing training to support myself and the needs of the business.
I have a duty to provide an excellent standard of care to all the individuals who access the support provided, both in the community and the care home. I oversee care delivery and am a supportive and on-hand manager of the staffing team.
I have a responsibility to engage with external professionals to maintain excellent communication and transparency and ensure that the care and support needs of all the people we support are managed and delivered effectively.
We offer a range of support to people of all ages and disabilities, allowing us to share our knowledge with all our support recipients and their families.

Planting at Gardening Club
We spent a productive morning at the allotment, where everyone pitched in to plant the remaining main crop potatoes, cauliflower, and cabbages. After our hard work, we headed to Enablement Care for a delicious lunch of cottage pie and raspberry crumble, lovingly prepared by Janet. Many thanks to Cayton for his dedication and hard work with the group.
