This is your chance to nominate someone who has truly shined over the past month. Whether it’s their hard work, positive attitude, or just being an incredible team player, we want to celebrate them!
Here’s how it works:
The two staff members with the highest votes will receive a voucher and certificate, which will be presented at our next staff meeting.
Let’s show some appreciation for our amazing team!
As we prepare for the staff meetings coming up in October 2024, we’re taking a moment to prioritise something essential to our success as a team – your voice.
Please spare just 5 minutes of your time to fill out our Employee Satisfaction Survey. This survey is designed to gather your honest feedback about how we’re doing as a team and how we can continue to grow and improve. Whether you have thoughts on your role, the support you’re receiving, or ideas for boosting team spirit, this is your chance to share.
Your input will be vital in shaping discussions in the upcoming staff meetings, ensuring we’re all working towards a more positive, productive, and engaging work environment.
Walking club recently had the pleasure of exploring the beautiful paths of Shipley Country Park, covering a distance of about three miles. What made this walk truly special was that it was led by one of our members, who is usually quite reserved. However, this time, she stepped up confidently, guiding us all on a scenic route with ease and grace.
As we walked, we were able to enjoy the stunning views, including a glimpse of the old Shipley Hall, a historical gem in the heart of the park. The weather was kind to us, with the rain staying away, making for perfect walking conditions.
After our refreshing walk, we gathered at the park café to enjoy our packed lunches, along with some well-deserved coffees, cakes, and sausage rolls. The lively conversations and shared laughter over lunch made it a fun end to our outing.
Everyone left in high spirits, albeit a little tired from the day’s activities. It was such an enjoyable experience that we’re already planning our return for another day. The group’s enthusiasm and the confidence shown by our wonderful leader made this walk one to remember!
We can’t wait for the next adventure. If you haven’t joined us yet, what are you waiting for? It’s a great way to explore new places and meet friendly faces! Please speak to your Community Support Worker or call us on 01623 397750 for more information.
Our Monday Gardening Club is always a highlight of the week, and this occasion was no different, even with a bit of rain. Although the weather kept us from visiting the allotment, we made the most of the day by heading to Glapwell Garden Centre instead. It turned out to be a wonderful trip!
We spent time browsing the beautiful selection of plants and picked out some vibrant flowers to bring back to Enablement Care. After a bit of shopping, we treated ourselves to a warm, relaxing coffee break before heading back for a hearty lunch. On the menu? A classic ploughman’s lunch, paired with a delicious fruit cobbler for dessert. Everyone enjoyed the meal, and it gave us the energy we needed for the next part of the day.
The weather finally cleared up enough for us to plant the lovely flowers at the front of Enablement Care. It was a satisfying way to end the day, and our new blooms have brought a fresh burst of color to the garden. A big thank you to everyone involved for your hard work and enthusiasm!
We’re looking forward to more gardening adventures soon, rain or shine!

We’ve planned a morning full of fun activities, engaging games, and delicious cream teas. It’s a wonderful opportunity for everyone who uses our services, along with their families, to come together and enjoy a relaxed and joyful time.
This event is made possible thanks to the generous contributions from our recent summer fair. Your support has enabled us to create this special occasion, and we can’t wait to share it with all of you.
Mark your calendars and get ready for a day filled with laughter, fun, and community spirit. We look forward to seeing everyone there!
The Community Hub – Cooking Session: Last week’s cooking session was led by Cayton, with Abbie and Catherine assisting. We had a full house as everyone got involved in making chicken korma and Eton mess for dessert. The session ran smoothly, with everyone contributing to the cooking, washing, and drying of the dishes. We also focused on improving our chopping skills and meal presentation.
It was a fantastic experience, with delicious food and a great opportunity to develop social skills. The group had such a good time that they’ve already decided on the menu for next time: pie and chips with banana cake for dessert. Excellent work, everyone! It’s wonderful to see the progress and achievements being made.
AW and Anthony were at the allotment last week, while many were away on trips and holidays. After a two-week break to focus on the summer fair, AW wasted no time returning to work, giving the plants a much-needed drink in the warm summer sun.
Meanwhile, I took on the task of uncovering our cauliflower and Brussels sprouts, which had become hidden beneath a surprising amount of undergrowth. We weeded diligently to free our beloved plants.
We paused only a few times to hydrate with water, and by the end of the session, it was rewarding to step back and see how our patience and care were paying off—the plants were thriving!
Exhausted and hot, we returned to Enablement Care, where we were greeted with an ice-cold glass of tropicalade, a delicious tuna salad, and a refreshing strawberry mousse—a perfect way to unwind from the day’s efforts.
